Hannah Beachler , born in Columbus, Ohio in 1970 and  raised in the small town of Spring Valley, was drawn at an early age to exploring art and design,  creating and building different environments on the large property her family owned.   While growing up in Ohio she observed her father, an award winning architect, and her mother, an interior designer, design and build their family home as well as many other progressive and alternative homes and businesses.

Hannah continued her exploration as a fashion design major at the University of Cincinnati in the renowned Design Art Architecture and Planning program (DAAP).  After directing a music video for a friends band Hannah became obsessed with everything film which led her to Wright State University where she studied and received her BFA in  Film Production, Theory, and Design. After graduating in 2005 she moved to New Orleans, LA to work in their growing film industry.

Hannah’s passion for design is evident in each unique set she creates.  Her talents to convey the personality and psychology of a character's environment and to plan interesting, layered spaces have allowed directors and actors not only to flourish in each space but are given more to create with themselves.  In broad strokes of impressions and feelings, as well as with an attention to details, Hannah has become known for her use of design, color and texture in each set.

Hannah developed her hands-on approach to design while working as a Set Decorator on television and feature film.   Such as the cheeky TV series for MTV’s network LOGO called “Sordid Lives, the Series,” directed by the writer of “Queer as Folk,” Del Shores and Produced by Emmy Award winning Producers Stanley Brooks and Damien Ganczewski. Impressed by her creative ideas and ability to find the essence of the story and characters within their sets/environments, Del urged Hannah to pursue Production Design.  Hannah went on to Set Decorate the feature film “Cleaner" starring Samuel L. Jackson and Eva Mendes, for director Renny Harlin.  Renny recognized a special talent in Hannah and urged her to become a Production Designer, as well.  Hannah also Decorated such features as "The Pardon" starring Jason Lewis and Jaime Pressley for director Tom Anton, and "Beyond A Reasonable Doubt" starring Michael Douglas and Amber Tamblyn for director Peter Hyam. During her time on “Beyond A Reasonable Doubt,” Hannah met Producer Limor Diamant who, impressed with Hannah’s talent brought her on to the After Dark Films, “Husk,” and “Fertile Ground.”

Hannah established herself as a Production Designer early in her career, setting the look for After Dark’s "Husk,” Directed by Brett Simmons, "Fertile Ground," Directed by Adam Gierasch, and "Scream of the Banshee," Directed by Steven C. Miller.  Hannah collaborated with the same producers again to design the feature, "Seconds Apart," with Director Antonio Negret.   Hannah then went on to Production Design the feature film “Samuel Bleak” starring David Zayas, James Russo and Debra Unger for Directors Mark David and Dustin Schuetter.  And then went off to Atlanta, GA to Production Design the sequel to “Quarantine” for Sony/Screen Gems called “Terminal” with Director John Pogue.

While working in the film industry for over 10 years, she has become more versatile in her approach, helping to solve schedule problems and financial issues, always delivering sets on time and on budget - without compromising the "look".  Having found a clear career path in Production Design, and the unconditional support from the filmmakers she’s worked with in the past from Producers, Cinematographers and Directors, Hannah seeks to continue the pursuit of creating  environments/atmospheres and sets for each specific project.
